MG on brittiläinen automerkki, joka on valmistanut urheiluautoja vuodesta 1924. MG-nimi tulee Morris Garage -nimestä, joka oli alunperin Morris-autojen jälleenmyyjä. Pian yhtiö alkoi kuitenkin valmistaa omia versioita sen myyntipäällikön Cecil Kimber suunnitelmista.
MG Roverin mentyä konkurssiin keväällä 2005 loppui autojen valmistus. Vuonna 2005 MGR Groupin omistus siirtyi kiinalaisen Nanjing Automobile Groupin haltuun. Ensimmäiset autot uuden omistajan alla valmistuivat Kiinassa Nanjingin tehtaalla maaliskuussa 2007. Tuotanto Iso-Britanniassa, Longbridgen tehtaalla, aloitettiin uudestaan toukokuun lopulla 2007.
