Historia
Fiat Group Automobiles (tai lyhyesti FGA) perustettiin 1. helmikuuta 2007 Fiat Auto S.p.A.:n pohjalta [2], joka oli Fiat S.p.A.:n tytäryhtiö perusajoneuvojen valmistukseen. Yhdessä neljä Fiat Auton osastoa (Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia ja Fiat Veicoli Commerciali) muutettiin neljäksi osakeyhtiöksi (Società per azioni), jotka ovat FGA:n 100% omistuksessa. Entisistä merkkijohtajista tuli näiden uusien yhtiöiden toimitusjohtajia, kun työntekijät sekä tuotantotila säilyivät säilyivät FGA:lla [2].
